Philippine National Police Director General Oscar Albayalde belied opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV鈥檚 allegations that his police security escorts had been unceremoniously pulled out.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Monday, Albayalde said the 鈥渢erms鈥� of the senator鈥檚 police escorts had simply expired.
鈥淩emember, that鈥檚 not permanent. Once it expires, [the escorts] can鈥檛 stay forever with the VIP,鈥� he said.
The PNP chief said assignment period of personnel from the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) lasted only one year.
Nevertheless, Albayalde said he had already directed the PSPG to temporarily provide Trillanes with two police security personnel.
He said Trillanes used to have an eight-man security detail although he was only allowed two. 鈥�Jaymee T. Gamil with trainees Julia Ornedo and Andrea Alcaraz
