After more than 27 years of missionary work in the Philippines, 71-year old nun Sister Patricia Fox is filled with disappointment with the government鈥檚 order to deport her from the country.

Sister Fox has been ordered deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) after the nun reportedly violated the 鈥渓imitations and conditions鈥 of her missionary visa.

Aside from deportation, the BI also included Fox in its blacklist. Blacklisted foreigners are barred from聽returning to the country.

鈥淲ell of course, I鈥檓 disappointed, but that鈥檚 the order, and聽we鈥檒l look at what we can do about it,鈥 Fox told reporters in a phone interview聽on Thursday.

Asked if she will appeal the BI鈥檚 order, Fox said, 鈥淭hat was the plan. I鈥檒l talk to the lawyers聽tomorrow,聽probably.鈥

Lawyer Maria Sol Taule, one of Sister Fox鈥檚 legal counsels, said, 鈥淥f course, we鈥檙e dismayed because we articulated our position in our counter affidavit and memorandum on the deportation case.鈥

鈥淪ister Pat did not engage in political activities. She is doing her missionary work here. Again, we will exhaust all remedies available to us,鈥 Taule said. /je
