Manila police give free rides to stranded commuters

The Manila Police District (MPD) is giving free rides to people stranded by flooding along Espa帽a Boulevard and Taft Avenue.

Starting Sunday, members of the MPD quick response team (QRT) launched 鈥淥plan Libreng Sakay鈥 to the public from Kalaw in Taft Avenue to Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City.

The free rides will continue until flooding subsides along that stretch of road.

At 9 a.m., Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a Yellow Warning Level over Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal, Zambalaes, and Bataan due to the threat of more monsoon rain.

It advised the residents to take caution for possible flooding cause by at times heavy rain. /cbb
