Palace condemns latest Isulan bombing

The Malaca帽ang strongly condemned on Monday the latest bombing in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old young man.

鈥淲e strongly denounce the latest attack in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. We are deeply saddened by the death of one innocent victim, per initial report, and pray for the swift recovery of those injured,鈥 Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte, who is in Israel for a four-day official state visit,聽had been informed of the attack.

鈥淭he President has been kept updated on all developments by the Philippine National Police, which has already ordered its men on the ground to increase visibility and patrol and tighten security,鈥 he said

Roque then appealed to Isulan residents to 鈥渞eport anything suspicious to the authorities as we bring to justice all culprits behind this dastardly attack.鈥

According to authorities, an improvised explosive device exploded outside an internet caf茅 along Valdez Street in Barangay Kalawag 2 at 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, killing the young man and hurting seven others.

The bombing came after a man set off a powerful bomb in Barangay Kalawag 3 on August 28 that left three persons dead and 36 wounded.

Due to the bombing, Malaca帽ang expressed the possibility of extending martial law in Mindanao. /cbb
