Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday denied President Rodrigo Duterte鈥檚 accusation that the opposition Liberal Party is working with Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) to remove him from power.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 have any connection with the Communist Party of the Philippines. We are not even talking. We all know the role聽 of the CPP here鈥n society. They exist independently from any political party. There are beliefs that are not compatible,鈥漅obredo said in Tagalog in her weekly radio show 鈥淏ISErbisyong LENI鈥 over RMN-DZXL 558.
Upon his arrival on Saturday at the Davao International Airport from聽 Israel and Jordan, the President warned of a unified effort from three groups that allegedly connived to oust him by October.
鈥淭atlo yan, bantayan ninyo聽 (Watch out for three groups). 鈥榊ang Yellow, Liberal (Party), (Senator Antonio) Trillanes, pati ang politburo (communists),鈥 he said.

LP president and Senator Francis Pangilinan earlier debunked Duterte鈥檚 claim, noting that the government is 鈥渄estabilizing itself鈥 due to its incompetence and corruption.
Robredo also lamented that the administration鈥攊n an attempt to deflect the blame for its incompetencies鈥攈ad always targeted LP as its 鈥渨hipping boy.鈥
鈥淚yong Liberal鈥 parating parang whipping boy鈥攑arating dinadahilan. Eh 鈥榙i ba alam naman nila na halos wala nang natira sa partido? Lahat na lumipat sa kanila eh (The Liberal Party has always been a whipping boy. But they know that very few had stayed in the party. Majority have jumped ship [to the ruling party]),鈥 she said.
鈥淸K]apag pinag-usapan iyong Liberal Party鈥攑arang ano din ito, parang pagsisisi din kay Trump sa ekonomiya. Lahat na pagkukulang ng pamahalaan, isisisi sa Liberal Party. Tingin natin hindi naman tama iyon (It鈥檚 like blaming the US economy on Trump. The government鈥檚 inadequacies are being blamed on the Liberal party. That鈥檚 not right),鈥 VP Leni said. /ee
