Failing to get relief from the Supreme Court, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is now considering going home on Tuesday night or Wednesday.
But the senator warned those who would try to arrest him, despite the SC decision, that they could be charged with illegal arrest.
鈥淧inag uusapan namin (We鈥檝e discussed this). We鈥檙e coordinating closely so I can do it tonight or tomorrow,鈥 Trillanes told reporters shortly after the SC denied his petition to stop President Rodrigo Duterte鈥檚 proclamation.
Duterte has earlier issued Proclamation 572, revoking the senator鈥檚 amnesty and ordering his arrest.

In denying Trillanes鈥 petition, however, the high tribunal noted the assurance given by the President鈥檚 himself that the senator would not be apprehended, detained or taken into custody unless a warrant of arrest has been issued by the trial court.

But to make sure that he would not be arrested once he gets out of the Senate, Trillanes said he would closely coordinate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines 鈥渢o make sure that there is no misinterpretation.鈥
鈥淒ahil alam nyo naman yung delay nyan sa pag-relay nung information, nung orders so titingnan natin kung tama yung basa nila dun sa basa ng mga abugado (You know that there is delay in relaying information or orders, so we are going to make sure that we interpret this correctly),鈥 he said.
Trillanes reiterated that those who would attempt to arrest him despite the SC鈥檚 decision could be charged with illegal arrest.
鈥淪a akin, kung sino man yung mag-arrest ay talagang makakasuhan ng illegal arrest (They would be charged with illegal arrest),鈥 he said.
But asked if he would go with the arresting officers, Trillanes said: 鈥淓 syempre naman (Of course). We won鈥檛 be able to militarily and tactically overpower them, so we expect to be overpowered tactically by force鈥︹
鈥(That鈥檚 what we are trying to avoid) not for my sake but for their sake kasi illegal yung gagawin nila sila yung makakasuhan (because they are going to do something illegal),鈥 the senator added. /ee
