Bracing for the impact of Typhoon Mangkhut (local name Typhoon Ompong) once it enters the country, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has expressed preparedness for possible flooding in Metro Manila.

The MMDA on Wednesday said it is ready to deploy at least 60 emergency personnel to provide assistance to the public “at any given time.”

According to the agency, at least seven ambulances, two trucks, two military trucks, two fire trucks, and one boom truck are now also on standby.

In addition, the MMDA has seven chainsaws which can be used to clear roads blocked by trees felled by heavy winds. The MMDA is also ready to field a manlift, extrication equipment, and rubber boats if needed.

Meanwhile, the MMDA also advised the public to take note of the following MMDA emergency stations located across Metro Manila: Edsa-Roxas Boulevard, Edsa-Orense, Edsa-Ortigas, Edsa-Timog, C5-Libis, Commonwealth-Tandang Sora, and Nagtahan.  /muf
