‘We will not be erased!’: Transgender people, allies protest in front of White House
Transgender people and allies rallied outside the White House in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 22, to protest the Trump administration’s reported plan to narrow the definition of gender for federal programs.
A report by the New York Times on Oct. 21, said the administration was “considering narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth,” in an undoing of a more flexible Obama-era guidance.
Protesters carrying trans flags and signs that said, “We will not be erased,” gathered to protest in Washington on Monday, as seen in a video posted on Facebook by Casa Ruby LGBT Community Center. JB
