The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has suspended the number coding scheme on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, in observance of the All Saint’s Day and All Soul’s Day or the “Undas” season.
In a twitter post on Friday, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim officially announced the suspension of the number coding on a Twitter post.
“Suspendido muna ang number coding sa darating na Nobyembre 1 at 2,” Lim wrote.
Lim also said that the MMDA has already started preparations to ensure smooth traffic flow during “Undas.”
“Nagsimula na rin ang ating mga paghahanda para sa maayos na daloy ng trapiko at sa iba’t ibang emergency operations,” Lim said.

The said dates were also declared special non-working holidays.
This year, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 fall on a Thursday and Friday, resulting in a long weekend for Filipinos. Motorists with licensed plate ending in 7 and 8 on Thursday and 9 and 0 on Friday will be allowed to ply the roads.
The MMDA has earlier announced that the agency will be deploying more than 2,000 traffic personnel starting Oct. 27 once the “Oplan Undas 2018” is activated.
Lim was reported to have declared a “No Day Off, No Absent” policy for MMDA traffic personnel from October 27 to November 3. /jpv
