Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles is the next Cabinet Secretary to replace former Secretary Leoncio 鈥淛un鈥� Evasco, who聽has filed his Certificate of Candidacy as Bohol governor, a reliable source told Monday.
The source said Nograles would take his oath before President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday in Malaca帽ang.
Asked to confirm Nograles鈥� appointment, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo in a text message said, 鈥淛ust wait for the announcement.鈥�
Panelo earlier said Nograles was one of the 鈥渓eading鈥� choices to replace Evasco.

Nograles was initially included in the possible senatorial slate of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) for the 2019 midterm elections but later said that he would no longer run in next year鈥檚 elections.
