Another joke? Duterte shares story of ‘touching’ a maid in his youth

MANILA, Philippines—President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday shared to the public a “lewd” act he did to a maid when he was still studying.
Speaking in an event in Kidapawan City, Cotabato, Duterte recalled confessing to a priest how he allegedly touch a maid in her private part while she is asleep.
The President said he told the priest that he went to the maid’s room one night and touched her twice.
After narrating how he touched the maid, Duterte said the priest of the Catholic school he was attending allegedly touched him too.
“Ganun man ‘yan. Kayo, ayaw lang ninyong ma… hindi niyo masabi dito. Ako wala man akong… media? Totoo man. It’s true. Lahat naman ng mga bata dumaan ng…” Duterte said.
“Habang nagkukumpisal ka, hinahawakan naman… hinahawakan ka naman,” he added.
Duterte, who has been known in his hyperbole and controversial remarks, previouly admitted being molested by a priest.
The President also warned the Catholic Church not to meddle in state affairs, citing a character of a priest in one of Jose Rizal’s famous novel.
“‘Wag niyong sobrahan ‘yung pakialam ninyo. Parang si Padre Damaso talaga ng ‘Noli Me Tangere.’ Makialam pa, mas marunong pa sa iyo,” he said.
