MANILA, Philippines 鈥� President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said he would fire two officials of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) over an 鈥渁pplication鈥� that has been delayed for years.

鈥淢ay tanggalin ako dalawa sa DAR, an application that was long delayed, two years sa opisina nila. That is corruption to me, para magbalik-balik 鈥榶ung aplikante. Two years?鈥� Duterte told reporters in an ambush interview after the groundbreaking of a hospital in Malabon City.

鈥淚 will ask them to resign or else I will file charges against them, and I will see to it that they will get their comeuppance,鈥� he added.

The President did not name the officials.

鈥淲ala pa pero from the looks of it, the name is immaterial. When you have papers with you, basta pabalik-balikin mo 鈥榶ung tao, kaya sabi ko sa Pilipino, there鈥檚 an 8888, i-text lang ninyo, pinapabalik-balik ako dito sa, yung assessment or business permit, and I will ask,鈥� he added. /je
