Man killed in motorcycle, truck collision in Quezon

LUCENA CITY – A 44-year old man was killed after his motorcycle slammed into a cargo truck along Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province Sunday night, police said.

A report from Quezon police identified the fatality as Jojo Llanes. Police said he suddenly swerved and occupied the opposite lane while negotiating a curved section of the highway and consequently collided with a cargo truck being driven by Reymond Bandoquillo in Barangay (village) Tinandog around 6:45 p.m.

Llanes was thrown off the motorcycle and landed on the concrete pavement; and sustained fatal head and body injuries, according to police.

Llanes died while being taken to Doña Marta District Hospital, police added. /kga
