Comelec orders removal of illegal campaign tarp in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines – A Commission on Elections (Comelec) official on Friday ordered the taking down of an illegal campaign tarpaulin Barangay 156 in Pasay City.

Comelec Commissioner Rowena  Guanzon said the tarpaulin is illegal and should be taken down and saved for evidence.

She, however, did not identify the concerned candidate owns the tarpaulin in Brgy. 156, Pasay City.

“Brgy 156 Pasay City has a tarp of a candidate. That is illegal. Take it down & save the evidence,” Guanzon said in a Twitter post.

Guanzon earlier released a list of candidates who have illegal posters as of Feb. 14.

She later clarified that the list of campaign poster violators only covered those found in Metro Manila.

Guanzon also called out senatorial candidate Francis Tolentino over his huge billboard in Pasay City.
