MANILA, Philippines — Tropical cyclone Betty (former Wutip) has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) early Friday.

“This weather disturbance poses no direct threat to any part of the country,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The LPA was last spotted 1,380 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan and was already out of Philippine landmass.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” continues to affect the whole country. /muf
