2 killed in Zamboanga del Norte ambush

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Two employees of plywood manufacturer Dacon Company were killed in an ambush in Sitio Lubok, Barangay Pisa Itom in the town of Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte on Friday morning.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Licup, the regional police director here, said Raymond Basa, company driver; and Ian Calunsag, an operator, were killed when unidentified persons lobbed a fragmentation grenade at them.

One of the security personnel, a member of the militia the company employed, was also hit. /ee
