College student found dead in school dorm toilet in Iloilo

Updated @ 12:28 a.m., March 13, 2019, to correct ROTC status of suspect

ILOILO CITY — A 23-year-old student was found dead inside a toilet of a school dormitory following an altercation with a fellow student on Monday night.

The student was identified as Willy Amihoy, a freshman pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at the Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) in Dumangas town, Iloilo.

Elmer Decilao 22, a graduating student pursuing Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, was detained at the Dumangas police to face charges over the death of Amihoy.

Incidentally, Decilao used to be the corps commander of the school‘s Reserve Officer Training Corps and Amihoy was a cadet.

[Earlier, it was reported that Decilao was the corps commander. But the Armed Forces of the Philippines clarified on Tuesday that he was no longer the with the ROTC. —Editor]

School security guard Rex Damian received a report about a commotion inside the boy’s dormitory in the campus.

When he went there to check, he found drops of blood on the kitchen floor.

The bloodstains led him inside the toilet where the victim slumped face down on the floor.

According to Chief Insp. Jojen Suegay, chief of the Dumagas Municipal Police Station, Dacilao had been angry at Amihoy whom he accused of stealing his wallet. /atm
