A substitute teacher in Millbury, Massachusetts, USA, got sacked after it was found that he brought bullets to a preschool class.

The unidentified 22-year-old teacher was said to be teaching in a pre-kindergarten class at a  local school on Thursday, April 11, when 9-mm bullets stored in a gun magazine fell out of his pocket and onto the floor, Boston ºÚÁÏÉç 25 reported.

The teacher said that bringing the bullets was an accident, but Millbury Police Chief Donald Desorcy thought otherwise, saying that the teacher knew he had the bullets in his pocket.

“He explained to us that he had been out shooting the day before and apparently had these rounds, these (gun) magazines in his clothing, and apparently he wore the same clothing to school yesterday,” Desorcy was quoted in the report as saying.

Local police later searched his house, where they found numerous rifles, handguns and ammunition. While the teacher had a license to carry such firearms and his guns were registered, his license was later revoked by the police chief.

“To me that’s just not sound judgment, an individual not thinking clearly or have a strong concept of gun ownership or gun responsibility,” Desorcy said.

Aside from getting fired, authorities said the teacher will face charges for what they found at his home. However, they noted that it was not illegal to possess ammunition on school grounds.  Katrina Hallare /ra
