Radioman stabbed dead in Butuan City on Black Saturday
DAVAO CITY — A radio commentator was killed in Butuan City after a still unknown assailant stabbed him in the morning of Black Saturday, April 20, a media group said.
The National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) identified the victim as Francis Patindol.
Patindol was a commentator of local radio station dxJM in Butuan City.
The NUJP’s Media Safety Office in Mindanao said Patindol was with several companions when he was stabbed outside the Alba Copy Center on Narra Road, Barangay New Society about 10 a.m Saturday.
Patindol’s killer fled after stabbing the left side of his chest. He was immediately rushed by his companions to the MJ Santos Hospital where he died.
NUJP said the motive for Patindol’s murder remained unknown as of posting time.
