LOOK: Eleazar inspects rally sites on Labor Day

MANILA, Philippines — Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, personally inspected rally sites in Metro Manila where workers gathered to commemorate this year’s Labor Day.

Eleazar interacted with police officers to make sure they are alert in monitoring the protest activities. Workers call for the end of contractualization and raised various other labor issues.

The NCRPO chief visited the Mabuhay Rotonda in Quezon City, the Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila, the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila and the United States Embassy in Manila where workers have gathered.

A total of 8,423 police officers were deployed by the NCRPO to ensure that the rally sites are secured.
