MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) should look further into the alleged links of Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who claims to be “Bikoy” in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” (The True Narcolist) video series, to top police officials in 2016, Senator Panfilo Lacson said Friday.

“Now that the PNP has confirmed my information on Bikoy’s contact with some senior PNP officials back in 2016, they must investigate further to determine the details of his engagement,” Lacson said in a tweet.

Lacson earlier claimed that five to six ranking police officials were among the handlers of Advincula who worked for them as an asset back in 2016.

Lacson, a former chief of police, said the police officials’ motive was apparently aimed to get noticed by President Rodrigo Duterte and be given good positions in the police organization.

“I only saw one motivation. The police officers probably wanted to be under the good graces of the new administration at the time,” Lacson said at a recent Kapihan sa Senado forum.

The PNP, meanwhile, claimed that Advincula is an information peddler whose tips led to botched operations. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
