Sully, the former service dog of late United States President George H.W. Bush, honored the memory of his former owner in Washington, D.C., in line with Memorial Day celebrations.

The yellow Labrador retriever sat by the National World War II Memorial, which carried the name of the late U.S. President鈥檚 son, George W. Bush, for the photo posted on the dog鈥檚 Instagram account yesterday, May 27.

The service dog鈥檚 account shared a quote about Memorial Day from the late U.S. President: 鈥淓ach of the patriots whom we remember on this day was first a beloved son or daughter, a brother or sister, or a spouse, friend, and neighbor.鈥

鈥淎lways thinking of my best friend & the bravest military in the world who made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country for our freedoms,鈥 the dog鈥檚 account added.

Sully received the Paws of Courage award from the American Kennel Club on April 20, 2019, for his service to his best friend.

Thank you @americankennelclub for the honor of receiving the 鈥楶aws of Courage鈥 award for my service to my best friend,鈥 the account stated. JB
