Ost arrived at the interview before 3:00 p.m. with her other child, a newborn baby whom she delivered on July 12. She signed out of the hospital against medical advice.

According to court documents, the 27-year-old was 鈥渆vasive鈥 and cursing a DCS employee during the interview.

The hospital then received a phone call at around 4:30 p.m. on July 16, saying there was a child in a car in the parking lot.

Police responded to the call and found a boy in the vehicle, watching a movie on a cellphone. The child was 鈥渆xtremely wet鈥 from sweating since the vehicle鈥檚 windows were closed and the weather was 86 degrees.

Officers were able to bring the child inside the hospital since the automobile鈥檚 doors were unlocked, as per report. Authorities then ran the license plate and discovered that the child belonged to Ost.

When questioned by police, the mother claimed she left the child in the car because he refused to accompany her to the interview.

Officers arrested Ost and charged her with neglect of a dependent, the report stated. Both of her children were taken into the care of the DCS. Ryan Arcadio/JB
