4.1 quake jolts Naval, Biliran
MANILA, Philippines — A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook the province of Biliran Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said it traced the quake’s epicenter six kilometers southeast of the municipality of Naval in Biliran.
The earthquake, which hit the area at 5:21 a.m, was of tectonic origin. It occurred at a shallow depth of six kilometers.
The municipalities of Naval, Kawayan, Almeria in Biliran felt the tremor at Intensity III while Intensity I was felt in Bogo City in Cebu and Ormoc City in Leyte.
Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected from the earthquake.
