World War II bomb found by villagers on river

LEGAZPI CITY—A bomb believed to be from the Second World War was found on Thursday (Aug 8) at the Yawa River in the town of Daraga, Albay province.

Lt. Col. Rodelon Betita, Daraga town police chief, said residents at the village of Binitayan were walking along the riverbanaround 9 a.m. when they found the vintage bomb.

Betito said what villagers found was a 1,000-lb general purpose bomb which was 124 cm long and 40 cm wide.
