Miniature horse onboard plane surprises passengers
A miniature horse surprised passengers of an airline when it boarded a flight from Chicago, Illinois to Omaha, Nebraska in the United States.
The animal seemed to be behaved while on board, as seen in a video posted on Twitter last Friday, Aug. 30, by one passenger named Evan Kowak.

The horse, named Flirty, is a service animal that belongs to Abrea Hensley, who is allergic to dogs and has post-traumatic stress disorder, according to an Instagram handled by Hensley.
Horses that range in height from 24 inches to 34 inches and weigh between 70 and 100 pounds are legally considered as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act, as seen in a Twitter post via Flirty’s account last April 10.
Miniature horses are the only alternative to dogs that are allowed as service animals by the ADA.

Hensley later took to social media as well to share moments from the flight.

They were fantastic and kind and very excited to see Flirty on their flight!” Hensley said last Saturday, Aug. 31 via an Instagram page for the horse. “Even the pilots had to come out to say hi.”

Flirty stayed by the edge of Hensley’s seat during the flight, as seen in another Instagram post.
“If she were any bigger we would need 3 seats to accommodate her!” she exclaimed.

Although their time on the flight was a great experience, Hensley says that she will keep traveling by car because “it’s still easier on Flirty,” as seen in a Twitter last Aug. 30.
She added: “Flying will be reserved for emergencies and such.” NVG
