2 drug surrenderers fall in Quezon buy-busts
LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested two former drug surrenderers in buy-bust operations in Lucban and San Antonio towns in Quezon province, police said.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Angelo Arquiza, 45, after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay 8 in Lucban around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
In San Antonio town, Leandro Marasigan, 39, was also arrested in a drug sting operation in Barangay Callejon around 6 p.m. of the same day.
Police seized several plastic sachets of shabu weighing less than one gram from each of the suspects.
A veteran police operative here said most former drug surrenderers were forced to return to their illegal activities due to lack of a legal source of income.
“For others, they sell shabu to sustain their addiction,” police said./lzb
