British pilot dies in ultra light plane crash in Pampanga town

MANILA, Philippines — A British pilot was killed after his aircraft crashed in a rice field in Pampanga on Friday, Sept 20, police said.

Col. Jean Fajardo, chief of the Pampanga police, identified the pilot as Mark Hogget, 55, resident of Tarlac City.

Police received a call from the village chief of Lapaz Turo in Arayat town about a plane crash around 3 p.m.

Police went to the area to investigate. Witnesses saw the plane descend and crash into a rice field. Police said Hagget died on the spot.

Investigators said Hagget was flying a two-seater ultra light plane with Body No. RPS2785 and owned by the Angeles Flying Club./TSB
