MANILA, Philippines鈥揟wo quakes struck minutes apart off Cagwait town in Surigao del Sur, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
At 10:34 p.m., a 4.6 magnitude quake occurred 50 kilometers northeast of Cagwait at a shallow depth of 15 km.
After 12 minutes, a 4.2 quake was recorded and it centered 58 kilometers northeast of Cagwait at a depth of 7 km.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the twin quakes.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific 鈥淩ing of Fire鈥� where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
