PDEA declares 55 villages in NCR as ‘drug-cleared’

MANILA, Philippines — More than 50 barangays (villages) in Metro Manila have been declared as “drug-cleared” by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

In a statement on Friday, PDEA Regional Office — National Capital Region (RO-NCR) announced that out of 62 villages in Metro Manila that applied for the Drug Clearing Program, 55 are cleared from narcotics for the month of September.

Of the 55 villages, 32 located in Manila were declared “drug-free” by the anti-narcotics agency.

In District IV of Manila, Barangay 544, Zone 54; Barangay 478, Zone 47; Barangay 477 Zone 47; Barangay 415, Zone 42; and Barangay 442, Zone 44 are drug-free.

In District V, Manila, Barangay 805 Zone 87 and Barangay 760 Zone 82 are drug-cleared while Barangay 242, Zone 22 of District II in Manila is also drug-free.

In District VI, Manila, Barangay 885, Zone 97; Barangay 589, Zone 58; Barangay 626, Zone 63; Barangay 868 Zone 95; Barangay 859, Zone 93; Barangay 856, Zone 93; Barangay 855, Zone 93; Barangay 849, Zone 93; Barangay 846, Zone 92; Barangay 845, Zone 92; Barangay 838, Zone 91; and Barangay 828, Zone 91.

In District II, Manila, Barangay 154, Zone 28;  Barangay 357 Zone 36;  Barangay 360 Zone 36; and  Barangay 295, Zone 28 are cleared of drugs.

Meanwhile, in Manila’s District I, Barangay 92, Zone 8;  Barangay 127, Zone 10; Barangay 140, Zone 12;  Barangay 3, Zone 1;  Barangay 4, Zone 1;  Barangay 5, Zone 1; Barangay 6, Zone 1; and  Barangay 46, Zone 3.

In Caloocan City, Barangay 153 Zone 13 in District 1; Barangay 135, Zone 12 District 1; Barangay 116, Zone 10, District 2; Barangay 89, Zone 8, District 2; Barangay 88, Zone 8, District 2; Barangay 86, Zone 8, District 2; Barangay 6; Barangay 9; Barangay 71; and Barangay 72 are cleared from narcotics.

Barangay Malinta, Valenzuela and Barangay Longos, Malabon are also drug-free.

In San Juan City, Barangays Tibagan, Kabayanan and Ermitaño are declared drug-cleared by the agency.

In Makati City, Barangays Northside and East Rembo are considered free from illegal drugs.

In Pasay City, Barangay 27, Zone 4 District 1; Barangay 56, Zone 7 District 1; and Barangay 70, Zone 9 District 1 are drug-cleared.

Barangays Moonwalk and Don Bosco in Parañaque are also free from narcotics.

The Regional Oversight Committee are composed of the PDEA as chair, led by RO-NCR Regional Director Joel B. Plaza, co-chaired with members from the other Government Agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP) represented by PCol Ariel R Fulo, Acting Chief RCADD-NCRPO; Department of Interior and Local Government-NCR (DILG-NCR) represented by Asst. Regional Director, Dir. III Juan Jovian E. Ingeniero; Dr. Susan Reyes, City Health Officer of Valenzuela City and Mr. Danilo Padrinao, Brgy. Affairs Department Head of Valenzuela Anti-Drug Abuse Office (VADAO) together with the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs).
