LONDON 鈥� The Mail on Sunday newspaper says it will defend itself 鈥渧igorously鈥� against a lawsuit brought by Prince Harry鈥檚 wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
The newspaper said Tuesday night it 鈥渟tands by the story鈥� in question, which concerns the publication of a letter Meghan had written to her estranged father.
鈥淪pecifically, we categorically deny that the duchess鈥檚 letter was edited in any way that changed its meaning,鈥� the tabloid said in a statement.
The royal鈥檚 civil lawsuit accuses the Mail on Sunday of copyright infringement, misuse of private information, and violating the United Kingdom鈥檚 data protection law with the 鈥渋ntrusive鈥� publication of the letter, said Schillings, the law firm handling the case.
Prince Harry also released a statement bitterly attacking the press for its treatment of Meghan. /kga
