A 27-year-old man chopped off another man鈥檚 penis, after allegedly seeing him rape his wife last Sunday, Oct. 13.
The man, whose name was withheld in the report, was returning to his home in Shevchenkovo, Ukraine, when he claimed to have witnessed the attack,听 as per Daily Mail on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Before returning home, the man and his wife (also unidentified in the report) were dining with friends at a nearby restaurant. The woman left for their apartment at around 1 a.m. and her husband followed her 10 minutes after she left.
As the woman neared the apartment, the 25-year-old suspected rapist, Dmitry Ivchenko, allegedly grabbed her from behind while covering her mouth.
When the man arrived at the apartment building, he reportedly heard noises coming from bushes nearby. He then claimed to have seen Ivchenko strangling his wife while the man raped her.
In an act of vengeance, the husband immediately struck the attacker in the head with his fist. As per report, he then chopped the suspect鈥檚 penis off with his Swiss army knife.
Following the attack, the husband鈥攕till in a 鈥渟tate of shock鈥� from the bloody incident鈥攚alked to a neighboring village to ask a friend to drive him to a police station. He then confessed to chopping off the man鈥檚 penis. He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm, and was under house arrest.
鈥淚 cannot explain what happened to me at that moment,鈥� the man was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the rapist was taken to the Shevchenko District Hospital to undergo surgery for his penis. It is unclear if doctors were able to reattach Ivchenko鈥檚 penis.
He was under police surveillance in the hospital, as per report, while an investigation into the case was being carried out.
Ivchenko faces up to five years in prison if proven guilty, while the husband may face up to eight years if also found guilty.听 Ryan Arcadio /ra
