MANILA, Philippines — Fire broke out in a residential-commercial area in Santa Cruz, Manila on Saturday afternoon, emergency dispatch TXTFirePhilippines said.
The fire hit the Sta. Cruz Building, considered a heritage structure, which occupies a lot bounded by Banquero and Escolta Streets and Plaza Santa Cruz.
It reached the second alarm at 4:48 p.m. and was declared under control after more than 30 minutes.
The blaze was completely extinguished at 6:42 p.m.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
