Pagasa Tuesday forecast: Cloudy skies with scattered rains nationwide

MANILA, Philippines –Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will prevail nationwide due to a low-pressure area (LPA) east of the Bicol region, as well as the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and localized thunderstorm, the government weather bureau said Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA will affect the Visayas regions, Bicol region, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga region, Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon.

The LPA was last spotted 910 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

It is also expected to develop into a tropical depression within 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”

Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said./gsg
