Typhoon Ramon destroys P618.7-M crops, infrastructure
TUGUEGARAO CITY—Typhoon “Ramon” destroyed P618.7 million worth of crops and infrastructure in 15 towns of Cagayan.
Palay, corn and vegetables costing P19.8 million were destroyed while livestock deaths were recorded at P1.4 million, Gov. Manuel Mamba said.
Damages to national roads cost the government P597.5 million, as well as P270 million of wrecked communal irrigation systems in Santa Ana town.
The typhoon toppled the power cables and electric poles costing as much as P5 million.—VILLAMOR VISAYA JR.
