MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente on Wednesday appealed anew to the public to report possible cases of human trafficking.

“The IACAT (Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking) 1343 action line is a very valuable tool in preventing human trafficking,” Morente said after immigration officers at the international airport in Iloilo City recently stopped six suspected female trafficking victims who tried to leave the country for Lebanon where they were supposed to work illegally as domestic helpers. —Tina G.
