A good Samaritan prevented a tragedy from happening when he quickly saved a dog whose leash got stuck between elevator doors, separating it from its owner.

A certain Johnny Mathis, from Texas, United States exited the said elevator before a woman and her pet entered it. However, the doors had closed in on the animal’s leash before it could join its owner, as seen in a video on Mathis’ Twitter page on Dec. 10.

Mathis, who was looking at the dog as he was walking away, did not hesitate when he saw the animal’s leash rising with the elevator. He immediately put himself between the dog and the elevator, before successfully freeing the dog from its leash.
