MANILA, Philippines – Heavy traffic flow is currently affecting the Balintawak and Bocaue southbound lanes in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx), the expressway’s monitoring system showed on Monday night.

According to the live feed posted on NLEx’s Facebook page, vehicle congestion at the two locations has been high, a stark contrast to the northbound lanes where vehicles are fast-moving.  Information from Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) officers on the ground say that the queue at the Bocaue Toll Plaza stretches up to six kilometers.

Camera feeds on the Taal Bridge near the Bocaue Toll Plaza showed vehicles moving at a slow pace, at around 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, gridlock along the Balintawak area is caused by the construction of the Skyway connector fly-over, which reduced accessible lanes to three.

In the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), traffic flow at all areas are also light as vehicles can move through various entry and exit points with ease.

Traffic at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) and other southern highways are also light, including both lanes of the Alabang Viaduct, the Ayala Toll Plaza, and the Calamba Toll Plaza.
