MANILA, Philippines — A crew member of a Vietnamese vessel was found injured during a fishing venture off the coast of Tawi-Tawi, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Thursday.

According to the PCG, personnel of the PCG Station in Western Tawi-Tawi found Dang Canh with a broken right limb and leg when they conducted a vessel inspection in the area.

“Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station in Western Tawi-Tawi assisted an injured crew member of a Vietnamese vessel with bow number KG91679TS during a fishing venture within its area of jurisdiction on 31 December 2019,” the PCG said over Twitter.

The PCG said its personnel immediately coordinated with the Philippine Air Force for Canh’s transport to the nearest medical facility for needed assistance.
