Chinese man’s corpse slapped, yanked out of coffin by kids he allegedly abandoned
Even if he was already laid to rest in a coffin, a Chinese man could not get peace after his estranged children attacked his corpse.
The deceased man’s three kids stormed into his wake in Jiangsu on Dec. 27 with a group of 20 people, Chinese media via AsiaOne reported on Jan. 2. Videos captured them shoving the coffin lid and yanking the body up and onto the ground.
They were recorded cursing at their late father and slapping him before the remains were dragged out of the coffin. “You treated me badly when you were alive. Even after your death, I won’t let you have it easy,” one cried.
The man, who died of an illness at 72, reportedly abandoned his wife and kids 40 years ago for another woman from the same village. The children were reportedly outraged that the mistress was asking them to pay for the funeral costs.
However, the man’s godson told a different story to Beijing Youth Daily. He said his godfather left the family after conflicts with his wife and not because of a third party. He also claimed that he paid for the funeral expenses.
