QC gamblers warned

/ 05:06 AM February 14, 2020

After the arrest of 12 people in Quezon City during the first wave of the police’s intensified crackdown on illegal gambling, Quezon City Police District director Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo on Thursday reiterated that all forms of illegal games, including those commonly played during wakes, were prohibited. These included illegal games such as “tong-its,” “sakla,” “pusoy,” “cara y cruz” and mahjong. Montejo also reminded his men, including station and unit commanders, to strictly observe and comply with the “no take policy” of PNP chief Police Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa, which prohibits police officers from accepting any form of bribe or “kotong” from illegal gambling operators. — Mariejo S. Ramos
