Patients being checked for COVID-19 down to 43

MANILA, Philippines — More patients are being tested negative for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), with those being admitted in various hospitals nationwide down to only 43, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday.

Data from the case tracker of the DOH as of Monday morning showed that 592 patients under investigation (PUIs) have been discharged after testing negative for the viral infection.

Three Chinese nationals earlier tested positive for COVID-19. These are the Chinese man who died on February 1, his partner who already recovered, and another woman who already flew back to China.

Overall, the number of patients who went under monitoring for the fatal disease so far in the country is now at 638.

On Sunday morning, this was at 633, composed of 39 patients admitted in health facilities, 591 discharged, and three confirmed cases.

Metro Manila – 20 admitted, 183 discharged, 2 confirmed cases
Calabarzon – 0 admitted, 80 discharged
Central Luzon – 14 admitted, 61 discharged
Central Visayas – 1 admitted, 60 discharged, 1 confirmed case
Western Visayas – 1 admitted, 39 discharged
Cagayan Valley – 1 admitted, 36 discharged
Cordillera Administrative Region – 1 admitted, 28 discharged
Davao Region – 1 admitted, 23 discharged
Northern Mindanao – 1 admitted, 18 discharged
Eastern Visayas – 0 admitted, 18 discharged
Mimaropa – 0 admitted, 15 discharged
Ilocos Region – 2 admitted, 11 discharged
Bicol Region – 0 admitted, 13 discharged
Soccsksargen – 1 admitted, 3 discharged
Caraga – 0 admitted, 3 discharged
BARMM – 0 admitted, 1 discharged

The death toll worldwide due to COVID-19 has reached more than 3,000, with the vast majority of fatalities recorded in China.  More than 88,000 cases have been recorded globally, with infections reported in every continent except Antarctica.
