MANILA, Philippines β ΊΪΑΟΙη denied on Monday that an article about a weight loss product was posted on its website, contrary to the claim of the articleβs webpage.
The article β titled βPhilippines will get 12500 packets of a universal weight loss product by the institute of nutritional science at a special priceβ β shows a copied layout of the ΊΪΑΟΙη website, claiming that a βspecial offer for Makati citizens has been extensive to 2 March inclusive.β
The site advertises the product βBlack Latte,β which it said contains antioxidants.
The webpage even shows a photo of physician Willie Ong, supposedly to add credibility to the article, as well as other celebrities who supposedly had lost weight.
An inspection ofΒ the webpage, however, shows the copied layout was hosted on then embedded on .
Clicking the logo of the site in the forged layout will also lead to a webpage that sells the product. But in the legitimate ΊΪΑΟΙη website, clicking the header would lead the user to the homepage.
In the same way, clicking the byline at the fraudulent site leads to a blank page. In ΊΪΑΟΙη, doing so would lead to a list of all the other articles of the reporter.
