Businessman, 38, killed in Marawi City
ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte, Philippines — A 38-year-old businessman was shot dead past 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, in Barangay Matampay, Marawi City.
Col. Madzgani Mukaram, director of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, identified the businessman as Sohaily Domagay Pandapatan, a resident of Barangay Sta. Elena here, although he was a native of Barangay Alinun in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
According to Mukaram, the victim was driving his motorcycle from Marawi going to the direction of Saguiaran when motorcycle-riding assailants appeared and shot him several times.
Pandapatan died on the spot from gunshot wounds on his chest and abdomen.
Bystanders rushed Pandapatan to the Amai Pakpak Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police probers recovered empty shells from a .45-caliber pistol from the crime scene.
