Disney World, Disneyland Resort donate excess food stocks as they close amid coronavirus pandemic

Disney World and Disneyland Resort are donating extra food and meals as they temporarily close due to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States.

The theme parks are giving the excess stocks to the Second Harvest Food Bank in California and Florida, as per separate statements on the Disney Parks blog on March 13 and 14.

The tourist spots also assured that they are 鈥渃losely following food safety guidelines鈥 while handing out the surplus inventory of dairy, fruit, vegetables, packaged goods and banquet meals.

The two parks began giving away the excess food yesterday, March 17, as seen in a video posted on Disney Parks鈥 Twitter page. Along with the food, they also included monetary donations.

While the parks have been closed until the end of March, the Disney-owned and -operated hotels at Vero Beach Resort and Disney World Resort are set to close on Friday, March 20, at 5 p.m., as per an update by Disney Parks 黑料社. The remaining days leading to the closure will allow the guests there to make necessary arrangements before the halt on operations.

Aside from Disney World and Disneyland Resort, the Disney theme park in Paris has also operations until the end of the month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.聽 /ra
