LOS BAÑOS, Laguna –– An ordinance was passed in Cabuyao City in Laguna province, imposing a moratorium on residential and business evictions for the duration of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Mayor Rommel Gecolea announced on social media Thursday that residential and small-business tenants could not be evicted while the moratorium is in force.

Rent payments are suspended for one month, and payments can be made when able, or until December 2020.
