Cabuyao City gives cash aid to PWDs, seniors, solo parents
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna–The Cabuyao City government in Laguna province started giving financial assistance to select residents during the second week of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine which was enforced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Senior citizens and persons with disabilities started receiving cash from the city government late last week. City government staff went to their homes to distribute the cash.
As of Friday, March 27, almost all of the 2,253 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the city were able to receive financial help.
On Saturday (March 28) P5,000 were given to each of the 30 families that were victims of a fire that broke out in the village of San Isidro on March 24. The families are temporarily housed at a multi-purpose hall in the village.
As of 2 p.m, Sunday, March 29, Cabuyao City has two confirmed COVID-19 cases out of the 33 recorded in the province of Laguna.
