Green sea turtle rescued, returned to sea in Puerto Princesa village

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY—A green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) was rescued by local authorities at a coastal village here on Tuesday (April 28).

The sea turtle, which weighed 130 kilograms, was found on Nagtabon Beach at the village of Bacungan, according to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) in a statement.

The turtle’s carapace measured 91 cm long and 83 cm wide.
