5.1 quake strikes MindoroCITY OF CALAPAN—A magnitude 5.1 quake shook Mindoro late Friday (June 5), according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs, in a report, said the quake struck 9:37 p.m. northeast of Calintaan town, Occidental Mindoro.

It was felt at varying intensities in other parts of the provinces.

State seismologists said that the earthquake was also felt in these areas:

Reported Intensity IV – San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
Reported Intensity II – Malay, Aklan

Instrumental Intensity IV – Roxas, and San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
Instrumental Intensity III – Malay, Aklan
Instrumental Intensity II – Malinao, Aklan; Pandan, and Sebaste, Antique
Instrumental Intensity I – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Culasi, Antique; Lopez, and Mauban, Quezon

Mindoro residents, through social media, said they felt the tremor. Authorities reported no damage or casualty.
