PUERTO PRINCESA CITY鈥擜nother healthcare worker in this city has tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Dr. Dean Palanca, city incident commander, in an online press briefing aired live on Facebook Sunday, said the second confirmed case from the Ospital Ng Palawan (ONP) was a close contact of the first 鈥渓ocal transmission鈥� case, who started manifesting symptoms of slight fever and occasional coughing on June 16.
鈥淭his new confirmed case is a male worker in ONP, a hospital employee,鈥� Palanca said.
Palanca said the patient remains asymptomatic and was already isolated. Contact tracing was also started on his case.
Palawan province recorded a total of 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 14 of which are active cases composed of 12 local stranded individuals,聽 overseas Filipino workers and two healthcare personnel, as of Sunday (12 p.m., June 21).
